What Works Right Now
Last checked: October 23, 2026. L.O.S City runs the CityVille Preservation Project's restored 2011 game. Here's an honest picture of where it's at. Something not on this list broken? Tell us in Bug Reports.
✅ Working
- Your city: building houses, businesses and community buildings, roads, decorations, population and the population limit, coins, City Cash, XP and levels.
- Samantha's tutorial and the goals that follow it, including "Star in the City!" (the Television Tower is in the Build menu's New tab), Rusty's Challenge and Restaurant Research.
- Goods and franchises: farms, the harbour, shipping goods, supplying businesses, and franchises in other cities, with the daily franchise bonus.
- Neighbours: every other L.O.S City player is your neighbour. Visit their cities to harvest crops, collect rent and earn reputation.
- Free gifts: one free gift a day to each neighbour (batteries, building materials, flowers, trees and animals), from Free Gifts at the top right or a neighbour's picture. Gifts arrive in their Inventory next time they play.
- Asking for help: Hire Friends for crews on the Town Hall, Police Station and landmarks; asking for materials, energy and Autograph Books or Popularity Votes on goals. Neighbours answer from Help Neighbours, and helpers earn 50 coins.
- New in the market: 13 buildings and decorations from 2013 that the 2011 game can run, in the market's New tab (French Gothic Fortress, Snowboard Course, City Pagoda and more).
- City Treasury: Add Coins & Cash opens a free treasury (up to 30 times an hour). The game reloads to show what you took.
- Saving: your city is saved after every action, and backed up every night.
🟡 Partly working
- Art: about 389 of the game's 2,655 pictures were never recovered (175 of them winter or test art). Most of the city looks right, but a few items show blank or as a placeholder. We keep looking for more.
- The wilderness around your city: only two of the original layouts survived, so they're reused for the rest.
- Helping a neighbour rewards you, the visitor; it doesn't change their city.
⏳ Not available
- Anything from the 2013 version of the game (Downtown, the Lake, sagas and so on): it needs a newer game and most of its art is lost.
- Facebook features like inviting friends from Facebook: every L.O.S City player is already your neighbour.
- Buying anything: CityVille is © Zynga and its server's licence forbids selling anything to do with the game, so nothing in L.O.S City is sold.
